When we lived in Tuolumne City CA.  The rim fire in Yosemite got started.  We knew we would at least be safe because Cal Fire set up their base camp just a short distance behind our cabin.  All our neighbors came to see the large aircraft, helicopters, and bulldozers on the ridge making a fire break and dumping their loads.  I wish I had taken more pictures.

 

It got very smokey, a lot of our neighbors and us left town it was so bad.

   We had to do something because we were operating a farm.  You can't put plants on hold and our customers at the Farmers Markets would miss us.
